Better Call Saul 4x1 Full REACTION!!

Better Call Saul 4x1 Full REACTION!!

That ending... such a YIKES moment. That whistling at the end parallels Walt's whistle after he and Jesse had that disagreement over the dead kid.

I never meant to hate on anyone's opinion, and I certainly never want anyone to feel attacked. I love hearing what they have to say. Their feels about Jimmy are perfectly valid, and, really, I wrote a lot to argue for what is a pretty small disagreement about Jimmy's character. I just like talking about the show with others. I always thought that they were referring to people who attack them personally because they don't like their opinion about the show. I just wanted to share how I view Jimmy and how my view conflicts with their view of the character. It seemed like it brought up an interesting conversation at the beginning of the video; but, if everyone is sick of talking about it or it makes them uncomfortable then of course I'll stop. I'm just bored and waiting for school to start up again haha.

I don't disagree with you, but... Chuck's dead, the aspect of the show with him. I dunno about you but when they actually say stuff in the recording about people hating on their opinions of Jimmy: That doesn't make me feel good. I know I have never been on Jimmy's side and in retrospect, did not make it clear enough in my comments that I valued how they felt about Jimmy. So I think we should just let Jimmy unfold as he does and stop getting stuck on the whole "But my opinion!" of it, to me it's something that I feel makes them feel attacked when they end up addressing it in the videos and I don't think that's why we're here or what we mean to be doing.

Jimmy can have a good heart (which Chuck does not ) and still be a terrible person if he continues to treat people the way he does. That is basally my argument.

Forrest

It is really easy to hate Chuck. He wears his hate and toxicity on his sleeve. The audience and all the characters on the show see him for what he is: a petty control freak who hates watching other people succeed and will say anything, even obvious lies like that he never really cared about Jimmy, to tear them down. The show makes it hard to dislike Jimmy. On the surface, he seems like a good boyfriend and brother, he is a hard worker, and he seems like a genuinely fun person to hang out with. Trust me, as a gay man, I have a huge crush on Jimmy. However, I do think that it is important to realize that Jimmy is, overall, a bad person. It is the great tragedy of the show that we see such potential for Jimmy to be a great person that no one else sees, but he keeps taking steps toward becoming the truly terrible person who we know from Breaking Bad and that everyone expected him to be. The Sopranos is one of my favorite shows of all time. I have the same argument with people who watch that show and come away with the idea Tony Soprano, a Mob moss who intimidates and kills people for a living, isn't such a bad guy because he loves and wants the best for his family. We watch the show from Tony’s point of view, and he has a lot of characteristics that make him extremely likeable, but that shouldn’t absolve him of being a bad person. I would argue that the sociopathic murderer is more core to who Tony Soprano is than his love of animals or his devotion to his family. Jimmy is a much smaller version of Tony. In BCS, we see him hurting people all the time. In Breaking Bad, he seeks out guilty clients and gets them off on technicalities. Think about it, while Jimmy doesn’t kill anybody himself, how much blood is on his hands? How many drug dealers and murderers committed more terrible crimes because Jimmy got them back out on the street? Walt killed dozens of people, and that was only one client! Making eggs for Kim after she has been in a car crash is a very nice thing for Jimmy to do, but actions like that only go so far when you consider Jimmy as a whole person. Jimmy isn’t such a bad guy because he feels sorry about ruining people’s lives? I think that is a pretty weak rationalization for someone who makes a living by hurting and taking advantage of people that we only give to Jimmy because we love him so much. Jimmy got lucky with the old lady. He makes himself look bad, her friends take her back, and there’s no harm done. But what about Chuck? Jimmy took advantage of him and now he’s dead. What about Howard? He is going to have to carry the idea that Chuck killed himself because of him for the rest of his life. There is no making up for any of that. I think that the real purpose of cutting back and forth between Jimmy trying to undo what he did to the old lady and Chuck’s downward spiral is that Jimmy can try to fix what he has done, but somethings you just can’t undo. And whenever Jimmy starts to ramp up the Saul half of his life, that will only become more apparent. Jimmy’s reaction to Chuck’s death is confusing and it is supposed to be. I don’t really want to talk about that until you’ve seen more of the show. Also, Chuck telling Jimmy that he never cared about him is fucked up on so many levels, but there is only so much time in the day to comment about BCS lol. I love discussing this with ya’ll. Great reaction. Love y’all.

Nacho didn't cause Hector's stroke, the pills were ibuprofen. The idea was for Hector to take a placebo and die. Something like ibuprofen in his system wouldn't raise suspicion.

Season 5 is on Amazon Prime but you have to buy or rent it, it probably wont show up on Netflix till next year.

CJ

Hey ladies, I'm sure you discovered already, but season 5 finished airing earlier this year and is on Amazon Prime (you do have to pay extra for it). Season 6 is going to be the final season and will be out hopefully next year?

i love hearing you guys' opinions!! i'm all caught up on this show and have watched the entire thing multiple times and i still love jimmy tbh..i know he's done some awful things but i'll never understand people who completely shit on him and compare him to walter. i know i'm biased because i've always adored the character and love bob playing him, but at the end of the day it's just a tv show and i'll root for whoever i want lmao. also side note, watching this back i'm shocked michael mckean never got the emmy for playing chuck omg

Aly

Most of the viewers agree that Jimmy is trying to be a good person (or at least he was before he eventually becomes Saul in Breaking Bad). It's just the people that disagree with you that comment. Silent majority

While the thing with the bar hearing was about Jimmy trying to help Kim and consequently trying to defend himself, ratting out Chuck to the insurance company was 100% petty and unnecessary, they both could've gone their separate ways(and Chuck was trying to do that) but Jimmy came back and did that to him. I'm sure in his mind he was just annoying Chuck but just now realized that it became the straw that broke the camel's back. In a way he could've felt like it was directly his fault that Chuck killed himself so when Howard took the blame he was very happy to offload the guilt onto him(the cross to bear). This is a moment that's shocking to hear for almost everyone because in this moment he says something you'd never say to someone yourself, he becomes completely unrelatable.

funny thing about watching reactors is sometimes I forget that they have legs

Jerico

Amazing reaction as always! And I think Jimmy was so upset hearing Chuck's obituary cause it was all about his achievements but nothing about having a brother or family.
