Uhhhh, dude. Jimmy didn't lie to Rebecca. He literally told her the truth about Chucks "condition". Chuck just didn't want her to know. It was meant to upset Chuck sure. Why are some people always trying to make Jimmy out to be worse than he actually is?

2020-07-25 04:58:36 +0000 UTCHis thing isn't rational and he definitely treats batteries like they burn. Like that's supposedly why Ernesto was supposed to change the batteries in the recorder. Later episodes involve him holding a battery trying to develop a tolerance. There's electricity everywhere (including his own brain) so it doesn't need to follow any actual rules.

The phone battery thing wouldn't have gotten Chuck normally, because batteries that are not being used do NOT draw any current. Chuck in a perfect mental state (which he might never be in) would have figured it out, but all the shit in the trial including Rebecca got him to freak out and the battery thing was the straw that broke the came's back IMO;
