The podcast Murder Squad with retired cold case investigator Paul Holes and investigative journalist Billy Jensen also did an excellent episode about whether Carol killed her husband or not using the fact presented in the doc AND facts available to anyone who looks into this a little and both firmly believe she didn't do it.

I didn't think people would be so triggered by our remarks. it seemed quite obvious that Don was doing a lot of shady business that would eventually lead to his demise. Anyways appreciate the comment! The comments section has been rough on youtube that is for sure.

2020-05-23 23:35:02 +0000 UTCI'm sorry but I find it even pretty silly that they have to defend themselves. The shows was pretty heavy on "poor ex wife and the kids!". But in all reality he's a grown man that decided to not leave his ex wife or grown children anything. He had already disowned them. If they were so "triggered" as some comments suggested then they would care a lot more about that. They were just skeptical because the show is very crazy. And the whole "karma" comment. The dude was involved in illegal smuggling to Costa Rica, then he kept cheating on his wives, and finally went to his newer wife to say, "I'm leaving you for my new girlfriend and you're not getting anything". Doesn't mean that justifies murder on someone's part. But that IS karma... What most likely happened is he got stuck in some Costa Rican thing, got murdered, and all the evidence given that people take as evidence of her guilt is actually more like evidence that she did several illegal things to keep the money once he went missing. Like changing the will, removing names from property and etc. Again, dude with the "roaming eyes" says he's leaving you nothing and then disappears. Of course she did what she did to keep the properties. She's a schemer. The ONLY thing that concerned me about this episode as to Imon and Abi is that I'm worried all these comments will make them not see through Carol as it pertains to the cats itself. Because the number of people angry at Carol will only make them sympathize with her more.

2020-05-23 20:02:26 +0000 UTCI would expect to see ignorant comments like this on Youtube not Patreon. It isn't that hard to use logic and critical thinking to understand we aren't on anyones side. We just don't think she killed her husband. That's a huge accusation. And we are allowed to look at the evidence presented and see a bunch of loopholes. Her ex husband was a shady man and probably got other people mad at him and that could have been his demise. Or he just left! Maybe she did kill him. But guess what? It is okay to question things. Especially in this crazy documentary. But it is crazy how so many people have just jumped on this Carole Baskin bandwagon.

2020-05-23 08:23:12 +0000 UTCMy understanding was that the Will was changed to “in the event of my disappearance” - which is bizarre. Who anticipates disappearing? Death, sure but disappearing? Sketchy. The guy was clearly a bad person - he sounded broken in a fundamental way - but Carol isn’t much better. I don’t know if she killed him, maybe she did and maybe she didn’t. Having been cheated on, I get why the family were upset and the reason I think they were taking it out on Carol is because the father is literally gone. There’s no one else left to be mad at from their perspective. They need to let go of that anger though. They’re wearing it on their faces and in their body language, it’s manifesting physically. I say cut your loses. Honestly none of the people in this documentary are good people and none give a damn about the animals, Carol included. She has a “sanctuary” but they’re still in cages. People still come to view them. She’s not that different from Joe. I really dislike Joe though. Like, to my core. That said great reaction. You ladies are killing it and I’m loving the deep conversations. More of that is always good.
