The Witcher 1x4 REACTION!!

The Witcher 1x4 REACTION!!

Yeah it was a big mind blowing experience when I re-watched it and caught the clues in the first and second episodes. Made the rewatches so great. I caught it when they showed the prince and princess at the ball as children. Big ole light bulb moment. Then on re-watch, I was slapping myself in the face since it was so obvious as they gave the clues literally right after one another in the different timelines... of course, it was obvious because I already knew then... not so obvious on the first watch. The writers did a great job of leaving all the clues you need, but in a way that was subtle enough that its really easy to miss the first time. LOVE this show!

Don't feel bad, this is the episode where most people myself included got the separate timeline thing. Some people pick it up in episode 3 when they showed the creepy king (that Geralt helped) as a child with his sister at Yennifer's graduation party. They also mention a clue in the first episode where Renfri mentioned a battle that just happened that Calanthe won, and Ciri mentions that same battle but talks about it like it happened decades ago. I'm not aware of anyone who caught that episode 1 clue on the first watch. This show is great for rewatching that way.

Yennifer is in the distant past, Geralt is in the past and Ciri is in the present. That's why last episode it showed King Foltest and his sister as kids at the celebration Yennifer was at where she got her makeover.

Its unclear in the show but none of these events are happening at the same time. Yennifers tale is deep in the past she is very old the comment she made about spending 3 decades catering to lords was true. she has been doing this job for a long time and she is regretting her decision of choosing this life over one with a family. You pretty much have to finish the whole season and then retrospectively everything makes sense.
