Breaking Bad 5x11 REACTION

It was just an jokey observation that popped into my head. The intention was I thought it and typed it without thinking any deeper than the thought: wasn't meant to be spirited or belittle your experiences/trauma. Clearly it came across that way so I will try to be better about tone/one offs; especially without context. The word is only half the speakers after all, also half the listeners (in this case readers). This isn't a "i'm sorry you got offended" situation I genuinely feel bad/was not aware of how sensitive that topic is for you. It's one thing to see it in a show and elicit a reaction but another from another human. The one thing I will say in my defense is that joke was clearly about the amount of times it comes up, not mocking the mistreatment/victim. Doesn't mean I should have said it or will write anything like that again! I just wonder if the comment was genuinely taken as mocking victims or a bit of an unappreciated Ego punch.

Your comment really shows a lack of empathy towards others. I’m not sure what the point of this comment was but it doesn’t sit right with me. Those are things people usually don’t make fun of or take lightly. Abuse is never okay and you are making fun of something I went through and something that caused a lot of trauma for me. So again I don’t know what your comment means but it seems very odd and mean spirited.

I really appreciate the insight you two bring to the abusive dynamics and behavior in the series. I think most reactors have the same trajectory in how they feel about Walt, but you guys have been taking apart Walt's shit for so long, turning away from him for the way he treats people when they're not doing what he wants, that your reaction to the confession tape really felt like a final straw, a line-crossing that you had been waiting for.

Thing is, i'm pretty sure Walt DOES actually care about Jesse. A lot. He uses him too, don't get me wrong, but Walt has always only cared about one specific type of person - his family. Sky, Jr, Holly, Hank and Marie are family and he cares about them all but Walt also sees Jesse as a son too. He's part of the "family". Still an absolute scummy human being though, and a manipulator for sure.

one of the best memes came from this episode. this aired around the time Miley Cyrus did her 2013 VMA performance with Robin Thicke. and someone put that video in place of Walt's confession, and Hank and Marie's reactions are greatness.
