It seems like in Japanese culture, it's not as odd to admit that your sibling or family member is attractive as long as you're not attracted to them yourself. It's like being able to tell someone of the sex you don't like is attractive even though you yourself aren't attracted to them.

Nohebi are a bit more like usual sports anime villains. Part of the genre's charm is usually that the opposing team is evil like a shonen villain, but Haikyuu distinguishes itself by most of the opponents being nice. (Most. Looking at you, Oikawa.)

because Tokyo is so big, they get to send 3 teams to Nationals. This was the Tokyo qualifier to determine which 3 will move on out of the 4 we see in this episode, so only 1 team (the loser of Nekoma vs Nohebi) will be eliminated. The rest go to Nationals
