Just an important thing to point out, Knov went into the palace using zetsu basically meaning he had no aura surrounding him the entire time he was in the palace so that nobody would be able to detect him. So when he felt Pouf's en he was essentially naked. Like what Wing said to Gon and Killua at Heaven's Arena when they tried to walk through Hisoka's en before they learnt about nen. Wing described it as the equivalent of walking naked in a snow storm. And if Pitou is anything to go by we know the Royal Guards have much stronger nen than Hisoka. Killua was practically traumatized by Pitou's nen even when he was covered and protected by his own nen so you can only imagine how it felt for Knov with nothing defending him from it.
