Regardless of the reason Illumi is a piece of shit for putting that needle in Killua's head.

FINALLY!!! I'm glad you didn't get spoiled but it takes foreeeeever to get the stupid nen-needle pulled out! After you know this and re-watch the show you start to see where it influences Killua. But it can be hard watching reactions knowing the issue and listening to people trying to get into Killua's head as to why he's running away at certain times.
And Imon is correct. It's been addressed already a bit, Illumi loves his brother and it's supposed to be a protection. They just called it "training" before.

I'm so excited for next week, and you all know why. And then the week after for 97 :-)

The whole Illumi needle thing is the one plot point in HxH I outright hate. Killua, you did not defeat your trauma by digging a needle out of your brain, you mentalisted yourself into thinking that worked.

I think Illumi is basically the personification of abusive love.

Isn't he 13 by now? I thought they were 12 at the first Hunter exam.
edit: I remember someone telling me the part where they say Gon's age at the end of the ep was a mistake.

Remember that Killua is still 12 years old
