Y'alls reaction to kana is warranted. From the moment she shows up to the moment she's killed she's not a likeable person at all. She becomes obsessed with shinichi because of her ability to sense parasites and thinks it's fate and then essentially starts stalking him. He literally tells her "hey you're probably sensing dangerous guys so don't just follow that signal" and what does she do? Follows the signal. She becomes so obsessed with him that she loses all reasoning and ends up putting herself in danger hoping that her "knight in shining armor" will save her. She is a very tragic character though. The only sad thing about her death is the general fact that someone young died and her friends and family have to live on without her.
