As of next week, I have been a proud 'sponsor' of the channel for a year and a month, and not once in that time have I regretted my contribution or felt like I was misled in any way. Everything promised in the tier is provided, including the aforementioned shoutout. It simply is not to the expectations you yourself set for... some reason? I mean, come on, if one decides to become a sponsor for $25 a month, you'd think one would have seen quite a few of Imon’s videos beforehand, thus knowing what the 'shout outs' look like. For this to come as some sort of shock to you seems highly unlikely. So, going by that logic, and the fact that your comment offers no practical or constructive feedback whatsoever, it kind of seems like you just wanted to both brag about your new membership and complain about something you absolutely should have been aware of beforehand. Like I said, I simply don't understand it. There are so many ways you could have gone about this, and this just wasn’t the right one. At the end of the day, I can’t speak for the team and wouldn’t dare to, but I’m fairly certain Imon and Abi and Eric (the editor?) truly appreciate your contribution. Every bit helps keep the lights on. At the same time, I personally don’t think they remotely need to apologize for something you misconstrued, nor should they feel obligated to change anything because of it. The quality content they’re putting out - in terms of show choices (they have an amazing roster of shows), update consistency, variety of edits, and just their unique reactions and discussions themselves - all of that is what made me want to be a sponsor for them. Because I believe in their vision and want to see them continue to succeed, and I wanted to show how much I appreciate their efforts. Because at the end of the day, their videos ultimately make me happy. And happiness is worth supporting. That’s a mindset a lot of their sponsors share, and if you don’t have that same mindset, that’s alright… but don’t try to call them out just because you regret your decision and didn’t do the bare minimum research on something. That’s silly.
