Imon's definitely right about this arc being darker than usual. Hopefully the next arc is a bit lighter.

2019-09-18 23:44:59 +0000 UTCAh ! I also feel weird about the whole moment of the holding the ball. I feel it's both deep friendship and trust but it hints of unhealthy aspects. Both these kids have major issues. Gon has been abandoned and he acts like it doesn't affect him, but the way he needs Killua by his side make me feel like Killua is compensating that void in his life. Like he need someone he can blindly trust. Someone that puts him back to his places sometimes. (Remember the "I do stupid stuff, and you help me cool off" in the York New arc ?). Basically what a dad is suppose to do. Killua on the other hand need to feel needed by the person he respects the most, Gon. He wants Gon to share his struggles with him. Killua has been abused and is incapable of expressing his feelings. Him sacrificing his hands is his way of saying to Gon how much he means to him. He's been trained to be a tool, and he wants to be Gon's tool. He's still trying to figure out friendship and it's limits. They are both very mature, but still kids at the end of the day. So yeah, your hesitation makes sens to me.
2019-09-17 14:53:02 +0000 UTCStopping my watch quick to say that - My insight into the interaction with Gon and Killua holding the ball is that it's really more just a result of their personalities. They're the best of friends and good kids besides that, but Gon absolutely has a selfish side that causes him to lose track of everything other than his goal, and he can take Killua's help for granted at times. And Killua is VERY devoted to Gon, as we've seen time and again. A couple people (Zepile, Nobunaga) have brought up that Gon has some dangerous elements to him. He's not perfect, and I think the matter with killua holding the ball is meant to make you wonder if it was really as sweet a moment as they thought it was. Really loving your reactions as always! There's a lot of stuff I can't wait to see you get to.
