He did not do it for the family, he did it for his pride. He would have left them zero debt, because all of it would have been paid for. It is horseshit and it's going to be very interesting to see how long it took you to realize it.

Also, he's wearing grey a lot more openly (even if they're sweatpants). However, we see a switch up when he is having his meeting with Gus. He's green (as you guys noticed! I AM SO PROUD!). Hank: Underneath his all-black exterior, his black jacket has a red liner. Nearer the end of the episode, after letting go of the El Paso job and coming to terms with that, we see him in a Hawaiian shirt. It's darker in color, so it's not all good, but maybe a weight's been lifted off of him a bit. Marie: YOU'VE FINALLY NOTICED MARIE SHARES DESIGN TIPS WITH THE GRIMACE!!! Skyler: When she meets Skylar at Ted's house, she's changed to wearing black, like she feels guilty. Which is so sad because when Walt and Skylar meet again, their color choices stay the same from earlier. She remains black, but Walt's changed to green now. Better yet, after Skyler sees the money in the closet, her palette turns green too. Jesse: Yeesh, he's been bitten by the green bug too! Saul too! Other notes: Not the windshield! He just got it fixed! Ted's got tiny nipples! HA! If Skylar had had her moment of enlightenment just one day earlier and forgiven Walt before talking with Gus, this show could have been SO different It's so heartbreaking watch Walt Jr. try so hard to make a good night for his parents. He's really rooting for them and is trying so hard to keep them together. I'm so happy you're talking about the colors!

2019-06-21 10:36:24 +0000 UTCI think the purple thing is just because it's the color associated with royalty which reflects Hank and Marie's vanity. It's the same reason they're so keen on getting appointed to a job in Washington DC, they just want to increase their own prestige and status.
