I had no problems following along with season 2 personally (I haven't read the manga - yet) but I was VERY confused when I watched the first episode of the 3rd season and I will continue to watch it, but I will definitely check out the manga afterward >>

2019-03-27 14:35:14 +0000 UTCI don't want to be that guy and I like the anime, too. Season 1 that is. But it is really true, the manga is so much better. When people say that it's usually because like one sentenced got changed, so this statement has lost all its meaning. But with Tokyo Ghoul it's really true. There are so many more details and character development. Season 2 is all filler, "original" story, and at times, gets really confusing. Season 3 then follows the manga again, but it's.. weird. Characters come in and act like they've been introduced (like they were in the manga) when they weren't, and you're like "who is this and why are we focussing on them?". Even some manga readers were confused. I'm not saying don't react to further seasons, but I really recommend reading the manga. Great reaction though.
