It's because Mikasa is a female lead. Imon has mentioned that she had trouble relating to strong and sensitive female characters, but that therapy has helped her recognize it and she doesn't do it as much now.

And as for waiting to cut Eren lose, she was obviously debating whether or not she was gonna let him die for her. Selfish yes, but everyone acts on their own agenda/best interests. I would totally buy and send you guys them if I could afford it but just thought I would give you a heads up incase you're interested in those stuff. (They previously made Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Sasha, Annie, Armored Titan, Eren Titan, Colossal Titan and Female Titan)
