Dont know if you guys knew this you certainly may have but, there are a few OVAs thats came out between season 1 and season 2 of aot and one of them has to do with captain levis back story, those ovas are deffinetly worth seeing

But without spoiling also, I won't say how much or how little she got correct. They'll figure it out soon. Compared to other reactors, they're getting a grasp of what COULD be going on on their own better than other people.
