Even if Levi is calm, they still want to protect him and make the right choice. Their reaction was perfectly reasonable. Not to mention, the factor of "mob mentality" plays out here WITH the addition of fear.

You don't think you'd be pissed that he turned into one out of nowhere without notice and like 5 feet away from you. Not to mention the adrenaline rush they probably had. It's one of my favorite scenes paired with the hand biting scene after it. It was needed so Eren could trust in his squad like they had in him after the spoon incident.

2018-12-04 09:31:59 +0000 UTCI've always hated the spoon scene, even more than the one where Eren was with Mikasa and Armin. Everyone just shouting and ignoring Levi even though he's completely calm about the situation just felt like a bunch of forced tension (you're gonna tell Eren to trust you but you won't even listen to your own captain?). We know they don't do anything to him, so the scene just felt pointless to me. Just have them looked shocked with their weapons out, but cautiously heed Levi's orders.
