Power Outage Update

Still no update on when power will be back; I'm expecting to stay at the hotel for a couple more days. We're expecting another storm tomorrow, which will probably delay the repair crews even more. Very thankful we got here while the roads were still relatively safe!

Decided to head to Best Buy and purchase a small Wacom tablet, since I've been meaning to get a backup for vacations and emergencies like this anyway. I haven't used a non-display lap tablet in a while, so I'll still be a bit clumsy with it, but it'll still be wayyy better than pencil and paper. (I rely very heavily on the undo button and transform tools!) We also took the chance to pick up some provisions to keep in the hotel room; mostly just snacky things and creature comforts like coffee since there's plenty of food options nearby (albeit expensive city food!)

Most of the damage we saw yesterday was still there when we drove down today, so I'm not going to get my hopes up about our neighborhood getting fixed any time soon. Which is completely understandable, considering they are prioritizing areas with infrastructure and higher population density, and most likely damage that can be fixed quickly.

Anyway, I'm mostly just rambling at this point. This has been an interesting experience, and an odd way to start off the year!
