Power's Out! 💨💨🌲⚡

DISCLAIMER: I'm safe and warm! My family was able to book a couple of hotel rooms, and we've even brought the cat.

But yeah, big nasty power outage in my area. Basically my city got hit by a windstorm that knocked down a ton of trees onto power lines and such. My home is one of like 150,000 that still don't have power, and the electric company is totally swamped trying to get everyone back on. Ours has been out since Saturday morning; we finally decided the house was getting too chilly and opted to book a hotel.

I'm nice and warm and powered in my hotel room, but I can't use my drawing tablet. I've brought my sketchbook, but I'm really clumsy with pen and paper, so I can't get much work done until the powerlines are fixed. Based on the amount of damage we saw just on the drive up, the clean-up crews definitely have their work cut out for them. There's currently no solid estimate as to when power will be restored in my area, but the electric company have said restoration efforts will most likely have to continue into the week. I might try and get some crab studies done tomorrow in my sketchbook, but it's definitely not my optimal work environment so we'll have to see how that works out!

Anyway; it's a minor inconvenience for me in the grand scheme of things; I'm very thankful to be in a situation where staying in a hotel is an option. But I just want to be able to get back to work! 😩
