Lily's Journal - Chapter 18

AN: Hey guys.

This chapter we see a visit to Luna's lab.

And Harry has a conversation with Hermione about some of her... preferences.

Hope you guys enjoy this one.

Chapter 18

"Thanks for taking the time to visit, boss." Dr. Lehmann said, as Harry and his group walked inside the lab.

"It is no problem. We wanted to take the time to visit for a couple of weeks now, and since we are going back to Hogwarts tomorrow, we decided to visit today instead of leaving it for the Christmas break." Harry said in an amicable tone, while they waited for decontamination.

Harry invited Hermione, Penny, Daphne and Remus, to visit the genetics lab. A mirror was also set up in front of his parents portraits, he needed a large crew to both check on the work that was being done, as well as to decide how much they should restrict the research. They thought that having an actual geneticist would be a good way to control Luna's curiosity and not let it go too far. But it seemed like Angela was only encouraging Luna to make progressively more dangerous experiments.

Sure, the owl blood transfusion wasn't that bad, but the fire breathing Iguana seemed a little unsafe. Not to mention the experiments with acromantula venom and manticore fur that they considered 'minor'.

"Where is Luna?" Penelope asked.

"Working on the theory behind our new experiment." Dr. Lehmann said mysteriously, not actually explaining what said experiment was.

"So, Angela. What do you have to show us today?" Remus asked, trying to move things forward.

"I guess you could start with our owls. Come, let me show you where they are." Dr. Lehmann said, turning around and walking away excitedly, leaving them to follow her.

They didn't walk long, despite the fact that the genetics lab was one of the largest in their current research facility. Angela reached for the first door on the right and when she opened it, Harry saw that there was another decontamination room, but they actually walked straight in.

"By the way, thank you Penelope, this system is amazing. It cuts down the amount of time I have to stay in decontamination by a lot." Angela said as she opened the door on the other side of the small room and Harry could immediately see the large number of owls inside it.

"How do those decontamination rooms work exactly?" Harry asked. "They seem a little different from what I would expect them to be. A lot easier and faster than I imagined." He added, looking around at the intricate runes inside the room before Angela closed the door.

"I actually worked with Catherine in this one." Penny said, making the others look at her waiting for her to continue. She didn't have much time this summer to work on her projects, using most of her time to deal with the paperwork and the initial training she needed for her upcoming apprenticeship. So they wanted to hear about the project she actually completed, especially since she didn't present it in the meeting.

"It is a purely magical system. It works on a runic array to imitate a spell. We found out that a cleaning charm cleans just about anything, that makes them perfect for decontamination. So, we used a runic array that constantly casts cleaning charms all over the room, and on anyone that walks inside it." Penelope said, earning a couple of impressed looks from the others. Harry even caught his mother's portrait with an impressed look, he was holding the mirror with the call already made since his mother wanted to see everything from the visit.

"This room also has an intent ward that only activates the runic array when leaving the room." Penelope added.

"That's really impressive, Penny. It seems that despite it looking like a small thing, it actually took a lot of work. And it also gives some tangible results quite quickly." Hermione complimented the older girl, earning a smile from Penelope.

Harry knew that Hermione always looked up to Penny. She saw the older girl as a role model, top of her year group, prefect, head girl, adored by the professors, Penelope was everything Hermione wanted to be in an academic sense. She would always compliment Penny every chance she got, but most of the time Harry agreed with her, and this time it was no different. The rooms did see like something small, but something like that was quite big. Decontamination in a genetics lab is extremely important, and also really slow. So making it faster and safer was always a good thing.

"And Catherine helped you?" Harry asked. "I didn't think she was that advanced in her runic studies." He added.

"She wasn't when she was only studying runes, but when she started learning arithmancy to go along with it, her rate of learning shoot up. She says that arithmancy and runes are closely connected enough that they might as well be magic's programming language, and she has a lot of experience with programming languages." Penelope responded, making Harry nod in understanding.

It isn't something he had ever thought about, but it does make sense. Runic arrays can be used to replicate almost any spell, and arithmancy is used in the process of making a spell. So it is quite logical that the two disciplines together become something similar to a magic programming language.

"Tell us about the owls, Dr. Lehmann." Harry heard Hermione say, making him shake his head and start paying again to what they were supposed to be doing.

"Well, we started with a few basic experiments. Just a blood transfusion from a magical owl to a non-magical one, and in that first experiment we found out that the magical blood rejuvenated the non-magical owl. Sometimes cutting half of their biological age." Dr. Lehmann said, moving towards a few cages on the side of the room, the others following her as she showed them the lab.

When Harry saw the cages he realized that all of the owls were quite young. He didn't know much about how much different species of owl grew, but all of the owls in the lab were smaller than Hedwig by a considerable size difference. Only two of them were snowy owls like his feathered friend, the others were from various different species, the most common being barn owls.

They also seemed pretty happy inside their cages, so he imagined the owls were being well treated, something that was pretty important to their group. It was one of the points in all of the contracts signed by the scientists, if they were conducting animals tests, then the animals must be treated well and be released into the wild after all the tests were done. It was something Harry and the girls, the ones that actually owned the company, all agreed on. In fact, Harry was pretty sure that if they hadn't added that to the contracts, Padma and Parvati would have left their group and cut all contact with them. The twins were even more vocal than Hermione about the rights of the animals. Harry guessed it had something to do it the fact that they were Hindus, but he didn't know enough about the religion to be sure.

"After that experiment, the next one we performed was to add genetic material from magical owls to non-magical owls embryos. These owls are the result of that experiment." Dr. Lehmann said, showing the owls in the cages.

"This is our non-magical control group." She said, pointing towards the less developed owls on the right. "As you can see, they are less developed than the others. They are developing in a normal time for non-magical owls, and that was one thing we noted from this experiment. Magical owls develop faster than non-magical ones. There wasn't enough time for any of them to reach adulthood, but we estimate that they will do so twice as fast than non-magical owls." She added.

The owls on the right didn't even have all of their feathers yet, and Harry realized how weird featherless owls looked. But he wouldn't ever say anything about it, he didn't want Hedwig pecking his eyes out.

"The ones on the left are our magical control group. As you can see, they are the most developed. They should be ready to fly in another week or so." Dr. Lehmann said.

The owls on the left looked almost like what Harry imagined a teenage owl to look like. They also seemed somehow healthier than the others, their feathers were almost shiny, their eyes seemed to be a lot more focused, as if they could understand the humans. It was almost visible that the owls were smarter than the others, not Hedwig smart, but smarter nonetheless.

"In the middle we have our hybrid owls. As you can see, they developed faster than the non-magical owls but slower than the magical ones. They also seem smarter than a non-magical owl, and a few preliminary test show that they are healthier." Angela concluded.

"So, adding genetic material of magical animals to non-magical ones makes the animals grow up faster and healthier. Are there any unusual findings? Some type of magical ability like the magical owl enhanced sense of location?" Lily Potter's portrait asked through the mirror Harry was holding.

"Not yet. We are still waiting for the owls to be capable of flight, only then will we test if they also inherited the enhanced sense of location and the faster flight speed of the magical owls." Angela responded.

"Do you believe the benefits to the overall health could be replicated in other animals?" Remus asked. "And I mean in animals that don't have a magical counterpart." He added.

Dr. Lehmann paused to think for a few seconds before responding. "We don't know at the moment, but that is our objective. We are hoping to give the same health benefit to endangered animals, ensuring that more of them grow up to adulthood."

"That is certainly a worthwhile goal, something we have no problem allowing funding for." Remus said, giving the woman a nod and a smile and receiving a shy smile back.

Harry might not be the best when it comes to reading signs, but he started to pay more attention to these kinds of things when he realized Hermione liked girls. So, if he wasn't mistaken, their geneticist might have a thing for Moony judging by that smile. Sirius will probably like hearing that. He had been annoying the werewolf to 'hurry up and get a girl' ever since he started to date Gwenog Jones.

"That's everything about the owls. The experiment will still take a couple of years to be finished, but the initial results are quite promising. I will have a proper paper with all the findings ready in around a year or so." Dr. Lehmann said, while stroking the feathers of one of the magical owls. They were the only ones that already had all the feathers grown.

"Daph, Anything to add from a pureblood perspective?" Harry asked.

"I can safely say that most purebloods would try to arrest you for allowing muggles to work with magic. And they would call those owls an abomination and a crime against magic itself. We all know how much they dislike having magic introduced to muggleborns, much less muggles." Daphne gave the expected answer, making both Harry and Hermione roll their eyes at how short-sighted the purebloods were.

"Yes, well, it is a good thing that we don't need their permission to do anything." Hermione said a bit petulantly. She didn't usually sound like that, but she had a major problem with people that tried to stop new research due to 'ethical concerns', which actually wasn't always good since it meant that she could get a little reckless in her projects. At least she didn't work with robots or genetics. Harry definitely didn't want to deal with a machine uprising because his girlfriend was charging ahead in her research without stopping to think about the consequences.

"I guess we are done here." Harry said, watching an young snowy owl try and fail to fly in the large enclosure, and imagining if a young Hedwig was like that. "Luna said something about an Iguana in our last meeting." He added, trying to move things forward.

"Yes, that was our second project." Dr. Lehmann said in an excited tone. "Come, I will show you what we learned from it." She added.

They walked out of the room, stopping for decontamination on the way out. The owls were mostly on cages or enclosures, but there were still a lot of animal droppings around the room and they didn't want to drag that kind of thing through the rest of the lab.

They walked through the corridor again, this time stopping at another door near the end of it. They walked inside, again not stopping for decontamination on the way in. Once inside, Harry saw around a dozen young lizards just laying around in a large enclosure, on tree trunks and rocks, on the dirt floor and some were even in the shallow bit of water.

"Those are our genetically modified Iguanas. The control group is in another room." Angela said, turning around and facing them, putting her back towards the glass window of the enclosure.

"We started this experiment almost at the same time of the owl experiment. As you can see, most of our Iguanas are still young, but just like the owls, they are growing faster than non-magical Iguanas usually do." Dr. Lehmann said, in her lecture tone that reminded Harry of professor Sinistra.

"How exactly did you decide to start this experiment?" Penny asked.

"Well, I always wanted to learn more about all the magical animals my sister told me about. So when I was hired, I asked Remus for a few samples of dragon blood to study, I knew there were twelve magical uses for it, and dragons are fascinating, so I decided to try and learn more about them. It was actually Luna that found out the unique properties of dragon blood, but she didn't really understand it since she had no knowledge about stem cells at that time, but them she showed me her findings and I told her about what it meant. She then gave the idea for this experiment. This all happened in less than five days, so it was pretty fast." Angela said, a little excitedly, making the others exchange a few worried looks. It looked like this project was rushed, it happened a little too fast and it seemed none of them were comfortable with it.

Seeing that no one was asking anything else, and ignoring the looks being traded by the others, Angela continued her presentation.

"Like I said, these Iguanas seem to be growing faster than normal, but there are still a lot of questions. We hoped that some of them would've grown wings, but none of them did. There is also the fact that Iggy is the only one capable of breathing fire at the moment. We don't know if it is because he is developing faster than the others, or if he is the only one capable of it, but we should be able to answer that question in a couple of weeks."

"What exactly is the objective of this project?" Hermione asked.

"We hope to transfer some of the unique properties of magical animals to non-magical ones." Angela responded. "I remember my sister telling me that powdered unicorn horn is used in a lot of high end healing potions. Imagine if we could transfer the properties of unicorn horn to something like a rhinoceros horn or an elephant tusk, I guess those are a lot bigger than unicorn horn." She explained.

Harry exchanged a look with Hermione, seeing on her face that she was probably thinking the same thing as him. The objective was good, but the way they conducted the research was a little reckless. There were a lot of safer animals to try this kind of thing, instead of going straight for dragon blood.

"Another worthwhile goal." Remus said.

"Yes, powdered unicorn horn is one of the most expensive ingredients to buy. It would help a lot if we had a cheaper alternative." Daphne added with a calculating look. As if already thinking of all the potion research she could do if she had access to cheaper ingredients.

Harry wasn't surprised. Daphne was the best of their year in potions, and he imagined she would still be better than Hermione even without Snape's bias towards slytherin. She also wanted to be a potions mistress, so her focus on it was expected.

"Anything else to show us?" Harry asked.

"Well, we are working on two new experiments. One is a collaboration with Enzo and Neville, working on some kind of tentacle plant secretions. Our current thinking is squid DNA, since we are dealing with tentacles after all, and some molluscs do throw ink. And the other is the one Luna is currently working on the theory. Come, it is better if I show you what it is all about." Angela responded.

They walked out of the room, and into the hallway. Going back towards the exit, Angela opened the first door to the right. As soon as the door opened, Harry was immediately attacked by a blonde missile, who then proceeded to do the same to Hermione, who just patted her on the back, Penny, who did the same but to her head, Moony, who mostly looked amused, and Daphne, who scowled, making Harry and Hermione laugh. Daph would get used to Luna soon enough, she didn't have a choice not to, Luna would just keep being Luna until Daph gave in, they knew that from experience.

"Hey Luna, How are you today?" Harry asked, after Luna was done with her round of hugs.

"I'm great, I've been working on the theory for the monkeys." Luna said, giving him a bright smile, her eyes shining with excitement.

Despite having a girlfriend that he loved more than anyone else in the world, Harry had to admit that Luna was a beautiful girl, especially when she was that happy. Her silvery eyes and blonde hair made her look like a Tolkien elf; even her ears were a little pointy. And her smile always had a way of making her seem even more beautiful than usual.

"Come meet Iggy!" Luna said, grabbing his and Hermione's hands and dragging them towards a table were Harry could see an Iguana and a large amount of papers.

"Everyone, this is Iggy." Luna said, letting go of Harry and Hermione's hands, picking up the little Iguana and putting him on her shoulders. "Iggy, say hi to my friends." She added, and the little Iguana opened his mouth, a small stream of fire coming from it towards Harry, who was thrown in front of it when his girlfriend jumped and hid behind him.

"... Hi, Iggy." Harry said in a carefully neutral tone. He was still a little confused if the Iguana was greeting him, or trying to roast him alive.

Harry heard suspicious cough from behind him and looked back, throwing a glare towards Remus who was trying, and failing to hide his amusement. Daphne seemed less amused and more surprised, and a little afraid. Not that she would ever admit it. While Penny was just shaking her head exasperated. She knew Luna well enough to not be surprised by her antics.

"I'm thinking of bringing Iggy to Hogwarts with me." Luna said with a smile, and Penelope's expression suddenly changed to one of fear.

Harry understood why. She had told him and Hermione once about how the Ravenclaw common room had a small library in it, something that made Hermione almost ask for a change of houses. So Penny was probably afraid of the damage a fire breathing Iguana could do if set loose on the Ravenclaw common room.

"Maybe you should leave Iggy here in the lab, Luna. He is still part of an experiment after all." Hermione said, probably achieving the same conclusion as Harry and Penny.

"I think she should bring the little lizard." Daphne said with some amusement in her tone. "Just imagine what Iggy would do to Edgecombe when she tries her usual thing." She added, making Harry frown.

When he met Luna for the second time, and actually started spending time with her, Harry realized quite quickly what Luna was going through with her house mates. He may have subtly 'encouraged' a few ravenclaws to leave her alone, and if a few ravenclaws ended up under the care of madam Pomfrey suffering from heavy spell damage, that was just a happy coincidence. It had nothing to do with the fact that those same ravenclaws were the ones that thought Harry was joking when he told them to leave Luna alone.

He thought that the problem was solved, since Luna seemed to be happier and no longer found her school things missing, but maybe her house mates just got smarter about it. Luna would never complain about it, not wanting to cause troubles to her friends. But if Daphne was saying something like that, it was because something was still happening. Daph was scary good at gathering information.

Harry decided to have another 'talk' with the ravenclaws once he goes back to Hogwarts.

"Do what makes you happy, Luna." Harry said, earning a smile from his friend.

"You said something about another experiment, Angela?" Remus asked, trying to move things along.

"Yes, we are working on something new." Angela responded. "How much did you get done today Luna?" She asked.

"It is mostly done. I still don't understand most of it, but I did what you asked me to do." Luna said in a happy tone, gathering a few papers from her desk and giving them to Angela.

"Those seem good enough for now." Angela said, after looking over the papers. She then put the papers on a pile at the desk right next to Luna's.

"Anyway, this project also started soon after I was hired. It is based on those examples of giant DNA you got for me, Remus." Dr. Lehmann said, and Remus nodded his head. Harry didn't know anything about the company buying giant parts, but that was why they hired Remus and Robert to be the CEOs of Marauders Inc. and EE. They were supposed to deal with this kind of thing so the group could focus on research.

"How much DNA are we talking about?" Penny asked.

"Quite a bit actually, half a litre of blood, a few strands of hair, and half a skeleton." Angela said. "Using the skeleton and a bit of the blood, I was able to quickly conclude that giants make up a fifth genus in the hominidae family, and I imagine that other humanoid magical beings such as trolls, might fall into the same genus." She added.

Harry could see how interested Hermione was in this research, and he was also quite interested in it. It was a fascinating discovery, one that could revolutionize the understanding of magical beings. It has always been a mystery for magical society how giants, trolls, goblins, centaurs and other humanoids came to be. The prevailing theory was that those species were created by failed rituals. Proving that those species shared an evolutionary process with humans could be one of the biggest findings in history, even if they still couldn't from were magic came, and why only a few humans can use it.

"We decided to see if there is compatibility with other hominidae. It is unlikely since humans, while close genetically to other primates, are still not exactly the same as gorillas or bonobos, but we still decided to test it. Magic could change things enough to bridge the genetic gap." Dr. Lehmann said.

"That sounds fascinating, but what exactly is the experiment you're planning?" Harry's mum asked through the mirror.

"We decided to test the compatibility of giant genetic material with primates. We know half-giants are possible, so they might be even more compatible with humans than other primates. After all, there are no recorded cases of humans interbreeding with gorillas or chimpanzees." Angela said, and the portrait of Lily Potter made a sound of agreement.

"We are going to start with gorillas, since I'm pretty sure experiments of this kind with humans are against the law, or maybe not, since I don't think the laws take magic into account. But we still decided to start with gorillas, because they are the largest primates, and also the ones that share the most DNA with giants." Dr. Lehmann said. "We are thinking of doing something similar to the owls, adding giant genetic material to a gorilla embryo." She added, and Harry could almost feel the same fear he was feeling spreading through the others, except Luna who was still smiling as if nothing was wrong. He could clearly see in his mind a movie he recently watched with Hermione.

"Please tell me you're not creating King Kong?" Penelope said, asking the question that was in everyone's mind.

"No, all our calculations say that the gorillas should reach at most a little over 6 metres (20 feet). I'm pretty sure King Kong is supposed to be twice or even three times that size." Angela responded in a perfectly calm tone, as if she saw nothing wrong with a 6 metres tall gorilla.

Harry shared a look with Hermione and Remus and they silently decided to go along with the plan they had thought of before visiting the lab. They would be hiring a magical to work full time with Angela and Luna, because they needed someone to keep an eye on those two. The research they were doing was too important to stop completely, but if left alone they would probably create some nightmarish monster that would end up destroying the world.

X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X

"I still can't believe how much you all have done just because you found out about my research. I would never have thought about the things we saw earlier today." The portrait of Lily Potter said in a gushing tone.

Hermione, Harry and his parents' portraits were currently in the Black library at Grimmauld Place. Hermione was spending the night because it would be easier for her parents to bring her to Kings Cross for the express tomorrow. The older Grangers were talking with Sirius and Andromeda in one of the living rooms, while Harry joined his girlfriend in her natural habitat.

This was something that they usually did. Hermione didn't really like doing the whole 'date' thing, she preferred to spend some time in a library, both of them silent reading books and just enjoying each other's company. In her own words, 'We don't need to go on elaborate dates, just spending time together in a library, looking up from my book and seeing you there, knowing you're by my side, is enough for me.'

Harry was reading a book about one of the many goblin wars. It still surprised him how a book could be more engaging than professor Binns, but the evidence was right in front of him, he was learning more from the book than he ever did in history class.

Hermione was reading some kind of advanced arithmancy book, because she was incapable of reading anything that didn't have an educational value. Harry had tried many times to make Hermione read something different, but she refused to do it. He even tried to make Luna read her Lovecraft books to Hermione, but that also didn't work. According to Dan and Emma Granger this was something new, Hermione loved to read fantasy books when she was younger, but when she started Hogwarts she seemed to be focused on reading only educational books.

"You only saw the crazy ones today, mum. We are doing something even better things with the other areas of research, and all of them connect somehow, like my alchemical transmutation projects. The new engine that David and the girls created use a lot of the Vibranium I created with transmutation." Harry said. He always enjoyed talking to the portraits of his parents. Ever since he found them at the old house, it was almost like something that he didn't know was missing from his life was finally there. Add that with Hermione being his girlfriend and Harry was the happiest he ever was in his life, even if he didn't have Sirius and were back with the Dursleys he would still be happy.

"I, on the other hand, can't believe how much you pushed the mirrors. You're making a lot of money with something Padfoot and I could only think of using to talk when we had different detentions." His dad said.

"That's because you two only applied yourselves when thinking about pranks." His mum said, her hand leaving the frame of her portrait only to appear on the neighbouring one and smack his dad on the back of the head.

Harry laughed at his parents antics. It made him happy to see something like that. He would always imagine his parents bickering in the morning during breakfast. The simple life that was denied to him because some psychopath killed his family and tried to kill him.

He saw the little smirk on Hermione's face, it seemed his girlfriend wasn't so lost in her book like she usually could get, and was actually paying attention to what was happening around her. Her bushy hair was a little more tamed than usual, her mum helping her with it since she had similar hair, and her chocolate colored eyes were shining like they always did whenever she was reading something engaging. She was beautiful, and dreaded the thought of losing her, but he would let her go if it was what she needed to be happy. It would be painful, but Hermione's happiness was more important to him than anything. So, Harry decided to have a conversation that he wanted to have for a few weeks now.

"Mum, Dad, can you leave us alone? I want to talk with Hermione." Harry asked his parents' portraits.

Hermione looked up from her book, a confused look on her face. Harry's mum just nodded her head, while his dad tossed him a wink.

"Have fun, and make old prongs proud." His dad said, making Hermione blush and earning a smack on the head, courtesy of Lily Potter.

"Shut up, dear. Let's give the children some privacy." His mum said, making Harry snicker at the awed look on his dad's face while the two left the portraits. It was a good pun.

"So, what do you want to talk about that needed your parents out of the room? I know how much you like spending time with them so it must be important." Hermione asked, biting her lips a little, like she usually does when she is nervous.

"I'm just thinking about our relationship. Are you happy with how things are going?" Harry asked, trying to find a way to bring up the subject.

"Are you breaking up with me?" Hermione asked. And while her voice had a teasing tone to it, Harry could hear the slight panic it was masking.

"Never! You're stuck with me, Miss Granger. For the rest of our lives if it is up to me." Harry answered, making Hermione smile.

"That sounds perfect to me." She said. "So, why the sudden scary question?" She added.

Harry stopped to think for a moment, and then decided to just be direct about it and ask her.

"I was thinking about the ball, and the looks you were throwing towards a certain French girl. I just think that maybe I'm not the one you want." Harry said, making a panicked look appear in her face.

"Harry, there is no one in the world I want more than you!" Hermione said, the certainty in her tone making Harry extremely happy.

"... I like girls." Hermione confessed. "But that doesn't mean I don't like you, or I want to break up with you." She hurriedly added.

"You're always the one I want, the one I think about. In fact, whenever I was looking at Fleur... I always thought about the three of us, together." Hermione said, and Harry could almost physically feel his brain stop working when he thought about Hermione and Fleur together. He certainly felt something happening elsewhere in his body.

"Do you think that's something you would enjoy?" Hermione asked, and Harry tried to get his brain into working condition before giving her an answer.

"... Maybe." He said, still a little distracted. "I think it could be fun, but only if it is something you want." He added once his mind was a little clearer.

"So you wouldn't mind if I brought another girl to our couple time?" Hermione asked in hopeful tone.

"... Yeah, if it is something you want." Harry said, not really understanding how the conversation arrived at this point.

"Would you kiss her? Would you go on a date with another girl if I asked you to? I really want to see you go on a date with another girl." Hermione said, getting progressively more excited.

"Are you trying to break up with me?" Harry asked, feeling like the conversation was going in circles since now he was the one that was hiding his worry in a teasing question.

"No, Harry, I'm never breaking up with you. You're stuck with me, Potter." Hermione said, giving him a smirk. "I just want to see you with another girl. I think it would be really hot." She added.

"But only the girls I approve of. I'm not going to let just any girl have a go at my boyfriend." Hermione said in a tone filled with warnings. The way her tone got possessive at the end really did something to Harry. He liked seeing Hermione like that.

"So, don't think I'm giving you leave to snog any girl, you're only allowed the girls I approve." She added, again in a tone filled with warnings. "So, maybe you could have Luna, Daphne, Susan, Tonks, Hannah, maybe Lavender if she tones down the gossip, Parvati and Padma should be fun for us, twins are always fun, and maybe Pene..."

"Whoa, wait a minute, Hermione. You're getting a little carried away there." Harry said, interrupting Hermione before she goes further, and before she causes him permanent harm in some parts of his body due a burst blood vessel.

"Penelope is dating Percy, not to mention the fact that she is an adult. Nym is also an adult, and I'm pretty sure Neville likes Hannah, so leave her alone alright." He said, trying to contain his girlfriend and still wondering how the conversation ended up this way.

"So you agree with the other girls?" Hermione asked excitedly.

"Maybe, just slow down a little bit alright." Harry said.

"Alright, Harry. I will take things slow." Hermione responded.

"Thanks... I love you Hermione." Harry said, earning a bright smile from his girlfriend.

"I love you too Harry."

AN 2: Hopefully the genetics duo doesn't create a King Kong.

And Harry has a long waited conversation with Hermione, learning a lot more about his girlfriend's kinky side.

Next chapter we go back to Hogwarts.

I will see you guys in the next one.

Comments

Thanks for the chapter! And what an intriguing vist too the genetics lab! Really hope Luna takes Iggy with her and I do both look forward to and worry about what else they may create in that lab! And then we have Harry and Hermione's talk about her interest in other girls ... A very fun and interesting talk, with an outcome that sounds very good and fun! Can't wait to read more of this great story in this new year of 2024!
