2023-07-25 14:58:01 +0000 UTCThe RCMP created a technique for catching suspects called “Mr Big” where an officer will pose as a big time mobster, reach out to the their suspect and bring them into their “crew”, make them do small crimes, then say the gang will protect them if they divulge all of their past crimes (arresting them if they confess to the crime they’re a suspect for and that confession is then admissible). They’ve done it hundreds of times and it’s not a secret thing - it’s in the bounds of our legal system. So I take any evidence about the Coutts guys with a grain of salt.
