New ones cost in the same ballpark as Airstreams. The new version of my old trailer goes for over $40k. You see lots of used old ones selling for $15-20k.

Another class of travel tralier that holds its value almost as well is the fiberglass egg type - usually built w/two piece of fiberglass similar to a thin boat hull. They are lighter and more resistant to elements than an Airstream, but not as attractive. I bought this one and redesigned the interior to live in off grid, on the road, for 3 years. I bought it for $8000 and sold it for $11000, but did not recoup all I spent on it + upgrade materials. https://www.flickr.com/photos/pindraak/albums/72157684454868684

Some of my kin in southwest Mississippi didn’t have indoor plumbing until the 60s.
