Such a good story line, why Gintama got to hit us in the feels so hard! We told you you weren't ready for this emotional rollercoaster, lol! It really is amazing the foreshadowing and building up all of these relationships so that when we learn some of these characters backstories and how they got to where they are, it just hits us that much harder. Beautiful writing by Sorachi!

The folklore character he's based off, Sakata Kintoki, was a sort of strong-man, like a Japanese Hercules. It's probably nowhere near Yato level, but combined with his instincts and skill, he can go toe to toe with the best of what the universe has to offer. What's also amazing is the way Takasugi can keep up with him with just technique and 1 eye.
