I’m an engineer and switched over from private to public sector so I could stop working 70 hour weeks. Now I’m having to fill out racial equity goals on my annual performance reviews - and their completion is tied to my raises. 🙃

2022-03-13 19:13:36 +0000 UTCIf you want to get into the trades YouTube and blogs/forums is how I learned carpentry. Get a labor position and some tools, if you’re humble and not an idiot sooner or later you’ll get a chance to actually cut some wood. Don’t over invest in tools though, toolbags/hand tools, a circular saw, and a cordless drill set is a good start, but if you don’t have any money don’t worry about the power tools till you do. Just don’t start telling other people how stuff should be done until you actually have some experience. Like years not weeks or months.
