Greetings, everyone!
In this batch for the Hordelands, we're bringing you to the urban centers of the desert, where walled cities have sprung up from the ruins of other tribes. In these maps, the bygone ruins of long lost kingdoms have been refashioned into temporary cities in which the various tribes convene for the season.
Markets line the street that yesterday were elsewhere and dusty, and yurts and makeshift housing for the builders encircle the monasteries and temples where the tribesmen parley!
First up is naturally such a walled city:
Variations come in the usual day/night, plus fogged and summoning effects, for rituals of rain and sand, upheld yearly for a good harvest of treasure ahead:
Next up is a Desert Altar map. Buried for untold years with only its ritualistic peaks curiously uncovered in the driest season, these altars that waylay the foot travelers across the savannah promises ways that the ancients used to augment the path ahead.
That is, if one can understand its poignant silences the way ahead may yet appear...
