We need your help!!

🎮 Dear Patreon Community,

Hello everyone!

Right now, we’re fine-tuning the combat system of Valeria The Pagan Priestess. That’s why we’ve been talking with members of FunDav (Fundación de Desarrolladores de Videojuegos Argentinos – the Argentine Game Developers Foundation) about how to keep improving it.

One of the most valuable pieces of advice we received was: 👉 listen directly to the people who play the game.

That’s why we’ve decided to soon release a special demo with 4 levels, designed specifically to test different combat styles. Each level focuses on a different mechanic so we can get clear and detailed feedback from you:

🥋 Level 1: You’ll only be able to use swords to defeat enemies.

(This is the most used and favorite mechanic among current Valeria players.)

⚔️ Level 2: You’ll only be able to use martial arts.

(Includes the new move we recently showed on our social media.)

🔮 Level 3: You’ll only be able to use magic.

(We’re testing three lightning-based spells.)

🌀 Level 4: All combat mechanics will be unlocked.

(Sword, magic, and martial arts combined.)

🎁 This test version will be available exclusively to all our paid Patreon members. You’ll be able to download a build with these levels and share your feedback through a survey before the deadline.

🙏 Your support makes all of this possible. Your active participation not only inspires us, but it directly influences how the game is built.

Thank you so much for helping us improve Valeria day by day — the goal is to take its combat to the next level, together!

— The Valeria The Pagan Priestess Team

I think they could be based on this system ... The combat changes depending on the weapon, which either purchases or unlocks like a metroidvania: If there are fists, spears, hammers or retractable sword, etc. The combat could adapt to it, and add an ability tree for each one that improves the Build, using bloody points that are achieved by executing enemies, and you can exchange them based on whether you want to play with one or another, that if, I think they should balance so that a weapon does not leave others obsolete. It would be something like in Darksiders 1, and if the maximum improvement of a weapon is reached, its hidden power/maximum potential could be unleashed, some due or definitive ability could even be weapons for limited but debt. The game that the game allows you to use by history, such as the leaf of the Olympus in God of War 2 and then to complete x requirements that weapon in the next game is available for its use.
