It's refreshing to see someone actually express being turned on by a film made in large part to turn people on. Erotic thrillers just aren't a thing anymore. I'm sure it's in large part due to internet porn, but it's also just another casualty of Hollywood deciding to make less films for adults and focus on films that can get the most people possible in theaters.
