Fun Fact: Though Steven Speilberg co-wrote and produced Poltergeist, he knew he couldn't do it justice in the horror aspect if he himself directed it. Therefore, Tobe Hooper, a director specializing in horror films, such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre among others, was tapped to direct Poltergeist.
