Thats... messed up. She suffered bigotry and got exiled. Wow. That sounds cool to me. I'm all for it being separated. It can get confusing/murky when shared universes happen. I don't mind it but this is a nice change for DC.

2025-09-03 02:05:51 +0000 UTCIn the comics, Blackfire's hair and 'star bolt' colors were the result of a genetic defect that made her unwelcome on her home planet. Obviously, this was not the case in this version, but I thought you might find that interesting. Interestingly enough, this series largely avoids deviling into characters' backstories. And even when they do, they never go into more than what's necessary for the story. Practically, this is because at the time, Warner Bros and DC had this rule that DC characters couldn't appear in more than one animated series at a time, unless they were in the same continuity. That's why Batman and most of the adult heroes never appear in Teen Titans, and why Robin never appeared in Justice League. However, these constraints really helped the creative develop the unique style of storytelling that this series is known for.
