But I think it’s implied that the Female Mannas are more powerful and common on the planet than Males are. As they grow they stronger they become thus why we see Gwen more coming into her own with it and not struggling. The show never really confirmed but on context clues you can kinda get the vibe it’s more common among females to get the spark when passing it down generations. Grandma is so relentless about having someone get the spark to go with her and so she only focused on that aspect instead of being a grandmother but also because after Max left she feels alone. Ultimately she wants to be closer with her family deep down thus the only way she felt she would be closer to them is if one of them were manna like her. in theory if Ben did have the spark there would be a low chance of him having it because of his gender. Plus another thing to keepin mind is most of the Tennyson’s we’ve seen are males and Gwen is the only female that’s younger than everyone.
