I hope you can react to more Hitchcock movies, they never disappoint. I'd especially recommend Rear Window, Strangers on a Train, or Shadow of a Doubt.

Hitchcock purposely shot "Psycho" in black and white because he didn't want the shower scene to appear too graphic. And they actually used chocolate syrup for the blood so it would stand out more in the lack of color. This was considered the movie that launched the slasher/horror genre. Though some say the British horror film "Peeping Tom" was the first slasher, also released in 1960.

2022-08-25 16:08:42 +0000 UTCI think this is classified as a thriller -- Hitchcock's specialty -- not horror. Janet Leigh is Jamie Lee Curtis' mother, who inherited a great deal of her looks. Janet Leigh's husband -- and Jamie Lee's father -- was Tony Curtis, a big movie star of his own and very handsome. Oh, and $40,000 in 1960 is $400,000 today!
