To answer one of your questions that other people have not already answered: telling Hank about the weed smoking is not a huge deal because in the US it's not uncommon for people to have at least tried pot, let alone smoking it regularly. It's viewed more like alcohol or tobacco than an actual drug. Not to mention, Hank doesn't work for local police or anything, he's a federal agent. Those types of guys especially are only interested in manufacturers or super high level distributors.
