As always, it's such a pleasure to watch with you esp the Marvel franchise which has become my favorite over the last 5-10 yrs. you're so perceptive and it's so heartening to see you touched by the dynamics of family, good and evil and spirit, body and mind. can't wait til the next one.😊

2022-03-30 21:55:28 +0000 UTCA Chinese friend on Facebook posted a meme that said: "What's the most unrealistic part about Asians in Shang-Chi?" The answer: When the mom says, "I'm so proud of you." There was a lot of general agreement among her Asian friends. Anyway, I loved the reaction! Shang-Chi is such a different Marvel movie. It's basically a wuxia film, which is a Chinese "martial hero" fantasy genre that's around 2000 years old. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero are two of the best wuxia movies I've seen.
