This movie was playing on TV when I was 4 years old. This was in 1985. I don't know if I got to watch all of it, but what captured my imagination was how it went back and forth from the future, with the machines, plasma weapons, destroyed city...and present day (1984) Los Angeles with conventional weapons. I was too young too understand the dialogue, but I remember wondering if there would be a part of the movie that showed how the future came to be, and how the whole city was leveled. By the time I was old enough to understand what was going on, Terminator 2 came out, and after seeing that, really made me fall in love with the first movie. The future war scenes captured my imagination the most. What I wish though, is a movie where all of the human resistance radio dialogue when Reese heads into the bunker is subtitled. I can only make out bits and pieces about firebases, sniper/sapper teams, enemy HK movements, but curious to get the full dialogue. -- The only thing is about the comms is that all Skynet would need to do is have a T-800 recover a radio, and add SIGINT and ELINT capability to its HKs to track the signals. I could write a novel about the entire movie, as its been one of my favorites for 35 years, same with the second one. But I'll just end this with thanks for reacting to them :)

Your ability to immerse in any film lets you strongly connect with them and makes you so much fun to watch along with! You are correct that Arnold as the Terminator is just so cool you almost forget he's the villain. Hope you watch T2 soon and maybe after you finish up MCU, you might enjoy a release order watch through most of Arnold's movies. He's a remarkably compelling and cool actor.
