It's not really popular now, but "Cowboy and Westerns" is a huge genre of films. Even Star Wars is basically a Western set in space with many similar tropes and storylines. ...well the George Lucas written stuff at least. ...who knows what the plots of the Disney dribble is about. Although, the "The Mandalorian" series gets back to the original themes, thankfully. You could check out the old films with iconic actors such as John Wayne in "True Grit", but those might seem a bit bland. The "Spaghetti Westerns" with Clint Eastwood still hold up well, like "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Actually a more modern film with an aging Clint Eastwood called "Unforgiven" might be the best. It also stars Morgan Freeman. Some others are "Tombstone" with Kurt Russell, the remake of "3:10 to Uma" with Russell Crowe, the remake of "True Grit" with Jeff Bridges. The dialogue heavy Tarantino style "The Hateful Eight" with Samuel L Jackson. A horror style western called "Bone Tomahawk" with Kurt Russell. ....or "Young Guns" starring Emilio Estavez as William H. Bonney, also known as Billy the Kid. ...there are plenty more.) . ...I'm sure even Tom Hanks is in a western if this becomes the Tom Hanks review channel. ;) No offense to Tom Hanks. Great actor. And plenty more of his movies to cry and laugh to. "Apollo 13"...absolutely, "Castaway" starring Wilson, "The Terminal", "The Money Pit" so funny, "Big", "Greyhound" it's WWII on water, "Bridge of Spies" a USA vs Russia spy story, "A League of their Own" with Madonna.....AND he's the voice of Woody from "Toy Story". You can't go wrong.)
