I didn’t even know who directed the film until i watched it for the first time on Netflix and I was like KENNETH BRANAGH?! Never would I have ever pictured him directing a Marvel movie.

The director of this film is has a good background in theatre (including Shakespeare - as does the actor who played Odin). You'll see several other different kinds of movie as you go through, which is one of the reasons why Marvel feels fresh even after 10+ years :)
