SHUM is a Ukrainian electro-folk song by the Go-A band, with which it represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and with which Kateryna Pavlenko and her team took 5th place. The song was based on an Ukrainian folk song "Shum" ("Шум"), which, according to folklorists, comes from pre-Christian times and rituals associated with the spring awakening of nature, namely adore of the ancient nature god Shum, "noise". The entire work is written mainly in the Hutsul mode which closely interweaves electro-techno music with folk motifs.
Pleasant listening and playing.
