What I think is interesting about that, goes back to your idea of them revolving or being reincarnated. Fetid Moppet is a phrase used in the 17th century to speak to unruly children according to my etymology research. (I am no expert though) A pocket door is a door that slides into a pocket in the wall rather than open into a room or hall. (Imagine one of those barn doors that are in some houses but instead of sliding along the wall it slides into a pocket built into the middle of the wall.) I'm not sure if you missed it but, when Irving came out of his apartment, he called someone on a pay phone. (Where are there pay phones now a days) but he said, "You're not picking me up. I get that. I want you to know my Innie got the message. Who was he calling? What message did his Innie get? I just noticed that this time through.
