Jackie Brown - Full Length Reaction

Comments

Bryan Cranston wrote a book about the early days of his career. As a young extra he met the late Robert Forster on a set. He said that Robert approached him and took the time to speak with him as if he was important to the project. Cranston was so impressed with Robert that he tries to make acting newcomers feel welcome in the same manner.

Glad you liked the movie. A Tarantino romance movie. Jackie Brown (1997) is my No. 2 favorite Tarantino movie after Pulp Fiction (1995). The two Kill Bill movies are my least favorite Tarantino movies but I still like them. Jackie Brown is played by the the legend Pam Grier. Robert Forster who played Max the bail bondsman was nominated for Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. I agree with you that Samuel L. Jackson did excellent. "What the f*ck happened to you, man? Your ass used to be beautiful." Melanie is played by Bridget Fonda who is the granddaughter of Henry Fonda. "That’s Japan there. Wanna f*ck?" Not surprising that Louis (Robert De Niro) didn't resist being intimate with Melanie -- after all, Louis just got out of prison (4 years). De Niro gave a good performance in developing the Louis character through body language without a ton of dialogue. I wondered if you recognized Michael Keaton (Ray the ATF guy). Chris Tucker who played Beaumont is good in "Silver Linings Playbook" (2012) (Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress Oscar) that I recommend.

Both are excellent. Tough choice.

This movie is based on a novel by Elmore Leonard. The role of Ray Nicolette was played by Michael Keaton. Michael reprised his role as Ray Nicolette in Out of Sight (1998), also based on a novel by Elmore Leonard.
