The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Extended Edition - Full Length Reaction

buckle up and let's journey into Middle Earth for one last time! (that is, until we eventually watch The Hobbit movies)

I hadn't been THIS excited to watch a movie in a long time, and it's immediately wedged a place in my heart for being one of my favorite stories, series, and having some of my favorite characters.

can't wait to hear what everyone else has to say!

Hey I know I'm coming to this one really late but I really enjoyed this! LOTR is one of my all time favorites and I always get choked up in the grey havens scene at the end. I see in another comment that you might be looking into the special features documentary. Afaik there isn't anywhere online that it can be watched legally. It was only available as part of the physical box set. Some portions of it might be on youtube but I don't think it's from an official source. the extended edition Blu-ray set is available on Amazon right now for ~$70 for all three movies and the documentary.

I have watched a lot of Lord of the Rings reactions and this is one of my favourites. Great stuff.

I was thinking I could still film a reaction but just keep it as a patreon exclusive! I just have to figure out where the heck this special feature is available to watch, the only think I've found is on Youtube but maybe that's the one?

camilla

You mentioned watching the special features at some point and I would definitely suggest it. If you did a reaction to them that'd be neat but I doubt it'd get many views. You should watch them either way though cause they really show how much love and work was put into these movies. I'm not usually one to watch the special features but for these movies they're super interesting.

my heart dropped to the floor when I realized it was probably going to be a spider 🀣😭

camilla

i 100% plan on it and look forward to it!

camilla

Would love to see you react to the Hobbit movies!

Alex Ocean

Lmao what? Good riddance

Alex Ocean

Really looking forward to this but had to quit halfway thru as I pay to watch reactors react to movies not constantly looking to pets, nothing more annoying. Already canceled so please don't respond... just learn.

It's always bittersweet finishing these movies, but the journey doesn't have to end here if you don't want it to. There's the Hobbit film trilogy also directed by Peter Jackson. Then there's the books which are more fleshed out and beautifully written (many of the lines from the movies come straight from the books). There is also Tolkien's Legendarium on Middle Earth including "The Silmarillion" and the massive twelve volume "History of Middle Earth", which provide a deeply rich and detailed collection of all the lore that forms the background of his works. Finally, there is the behind the scenes/making of the movies which is truly incredible and probably deserving of its own reaction

Okay, I just finished watching it! What a fantastic job, Camilla! πŸ‘πŸ‘ A gazillion people (including me) will now proceed to tell you all manner of fascinating trivia, which is well worth learning! One thing I'll say immediately is that ever since you shared your fear of a certain type of animal, all of us collectively held our breath waiting for you to have to face your fear! πŸ«₯ And right before the moment arrived, you unlocked "Fear of Heights" too! So your panic at 2:16:45 was predictable and heart wrenching. But you made it! Well done! 😁

I was wondering if Denethor was a more more fleshed-out/dimensional character in the books! that's helpful to know

camilla

That was wonderful. You did a great job, Camilla. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ About Denethor and his son, Faramir: Denethor’s hatred began when Faramir was only an infant. The steward’s wife, Finduilas, became ill shortly after Faramir’s birth and then died. The loss of his wife took an emotional toll on Denethor from which he never recovered. He assumed her death was a result of childbirth, and, therefore, blamed Faramir for her loss.

Enjoyed your reaction. Thanks. Agree that the magic of story telling here. "I go to my fathers in whose mighty company, I shall not now feel ashamed."
