Routines (Poem)
Added 2024-11-30 21:38:31 +0000 UTCThis month has been kind of tough for me, for obvious reasons, but I have been working on stuff still. I don't have my next short story for Patreon, but I've got another poem that popped out of my head earlier this month to share. Looking back at it, this is actually something I needed to hear today.
We live in darkness,
we live in death,
and from this we should create beautiful things?
There is madness in that belief,
so why do I keep trying?
Why not give in, why not curl up, and just let go?
I don’t know. I don’t know if I’ll ever know.
Maybe the mind isn’t logical,
or maybe…
I’m just too scared to stop.
It’s the small things in life sometimes,
that give us strength.
It is the routines of well worth paths,
that can give us hope.
Familiar scents and sounds to move us ahead,
to comfort us against the cold,
to let us know the world is still here.
To give us something to fight for.
It’s the small things in life that make us who are,
that temper us in life,
that give us our passions, our dreams
that bring us to out strengths,
it is the darkness that give us the contrasts to see,
who, we really are.
