Publishing Plans in 2025 and the Future

The outcome of the 2024 presidential election in the United States, where I live, has not gone the way I hoped. While I cannot predict the future, going off the promises made by Trump and the Project 2025 agenda, I don’t know for how much longer publishing gay furry fiction will be legally viable in the USA.

However, In the short term, changing laws like they’ve promised takes time. I plan to buckle down and focus on cleaning up my next novel, The Blood of Life, so I can publish it in the first half of 2025. I’m aiming for March, but there’s still a lot of editing to do. After that, I’ll need to evaluate the political landscape to see what my next steps should be.

Long term, the outlook for publishing writing like mine is not very good. One of the things promised this campaign season is a ban on pornography and LGBTQ+ content. If that gets implemented and how that gets implemented will heavily impact my ability to self-publish in the USA. In the event that this does come to pass, I may be able to shift printing of my existing work and future projects to Europe. That though is a big if, but it is an avenue I plan to investigate. Currently, there’s no legislation to review and plan for, so I can only go off the promises made during the campaign.

I want to get started on the sequel to Scars of the Golden Dancer this winter and make that my writing focus for the next year. I’ll do my best to continue working, but in the face of civil and criminal penalties, the distribution of such work like mine may need to cease. Please be kind to each other, and I’ll do my best to continue to bring you my writing for as long as I’m able to.
