September 2024 Check-in
Added 2024-09-25 19:01:37 +0000 UTCI've been meaning to do another Patreon update, but things have been busy. Also, I've got a new problem to deal with this week. For those who don't know, I live in north Florida, where we're currently projected to be hit by hurricane Helene tomorrow night. I'm not in a mandatory evacuation zone, but they are ordered a mandatory evacuation for anyone in mobile homes and manufactured housing to leave the area by 8 AM tomorrow. I expect to be fine, but I could lose power for days. All of this bumps up my anxiety.
I'll post a story for this month before the storm, but I'll be out of pocket for a while possibly. My job is very kind, and I've been off work today so I can get ready, but I have trouble not focusing on the storm. I do live in a fairly sturdy structure, and we have a generator, but I expect things locally could be squirrely for a while post storm.
However, I do have some good news here. I've finished a draft of The Blood of Life and my writing group has reviewed the entire thing. I've also talked to developmental editor about looking over it once I've finished working on it. In addition, I have a narrator working on the audio book version of Scars of the Golden Dancer, and they've made a lot of progress. I'll update again once things get back to normal.
