Moving on from Destiny 2

This has been a big week. 7 days ago I published my review of Destiny 2's first expansion, The Curse of Osiris (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEEUJ4hSwwI&t=25s) and I'm not at all exaggerating when I say that it was more underwhelming that I could have imagined. There's a point at which you have to cut your losses and move on, and I reached that point with Destiny 2 and Bungie when I saw how little effort had gone into the expansion, and how tone-deaf it was in the face of the overwhelming feedback Bungie had been provided by the community.

I'll go back to Destiny one day, if and when it makes a stirring comeback and focuses on delivering value to the player, rather than gating its best content behind lootboxes. I fear, though, that day won't be any time soon (if ever). I really do wish Bungie all the best, but I certainly won't be sticking with them this time.

Destiny Community Podcast

https://youtu.be/uqofHLCHGwE

Many months ago, I was invited to appear on the Destiny Community Podcast. I spoke with the host about whether or not he still wanted me to appear given the nature of my Curse of Osiris review, and he said it was more important than ever to talk about the frustrations that the community was feeling. What followed was a 3 hour conversation about the highs and lows of Destiny 2 since launched, and while many of the people in the discussion disagreed with one another, is was a really respectful and insightful conversation. If you're a fan of Destiny, I really think you'll enjoy listening to it.

Interviewing ACG (the review guy!)

https://youtu.be/A0wDTR2r7jg

I'm sure many of you already know ACG- he's perhaps the most prolific reviewer on YouTuber and someone I respect a great deal. We sat down to talk through what it means to review games, the challenges we face while doing it, the threat (and reality) of being black-listed and provide some tips on starting your own review channel. I'm hoping I can nail down AngryJoe as the next guest, but that's a work in progress :)

The Division Patch 1.8

Many of you have been asking if I am playing The Division atm and the answer is, hell yes. The update is so fucking good. I've played it all week and will continue to do so as I work towards a review next weekend. Keep an eye out for it.

I'll update you guys again before Christmas, so have a great week :)

Also Ralph, I think in your videos you have said you are using Adobe's video editing software, which of course has a subscription or $$$ tag tied to it - I have been using DaVinci Resolve 14, which has a free version, and it's awesome IMO. Not trying to sell you on it, just trying to save you some money; so that what do you make making YT content can go back into the channel or spoiling your wife. Keep up the great work!

Good to hear you coming back to The Division. I only have Marco to refer to and he's predominately PVP; need a PVE theorycrafter to help me make awesome builds. There's just too many choices!
