Following your artwork for years, I've liked it the whole way! :D I've always thought you've had a knack for it--- your eye for style, detail, and form show skill.

Yasmine Pirouz

Lol, admittedly, when you started your art was so strange. I almost quit reading. But it got a lot better over time, so I returned.

tibfulv

Hahaha, art cannot be "singularly good". For me personally, your art is something I get genuinely excited about seeing, three times a week. Unrelated to wether the story will make me feel happy or sad that day.

Victoria

I'm here because your art and stories make me happy. Thanks for sharing these personal bits of your life and experience.

John Ashcraft

I worry that one day someone will reach the "good" art singularity then we are all doomed.

Vernon Jackson

This. so very much this. If you ever doubt your ability as an artist look at your patreon contributions. Every penny of it is someone handing you money because we LIKE your art enough to pay money so you are free to do it.

John Trauger

Your art is good, is what I'd say several years ago. Now your art is AMAZING!

Mr. Leeds

I don't know enough about visual art to be able to say much more than "It's good" but certainly I am amazed when you draw something intricate which obviously took a lot of artistry/skill/effort to do, and then say you just did it for fun. It is indisputable that your art has come along by great strides since you started, so keep it up!

Mark

Your art has progressed and grown, and has a unique voice. Don't try to change it extensively, you are moving along a wonderful path.

William Burns

Well, your art is good enough for your to make a living doing it, even when you give it away for free. That's like... who even does that?! Do you know how strange that is? You create and distribute your art at no cost to others, yet more than 2000 people clamour to throw money at you in appreciation each month. Whatever you're doing, whatever your art is doing, we're here for it, and you're doing okay.

audiaphilios

Your art is what it is, man -- it's your own. Folks like it, folks don't like it, whatever; as long as you're expressing yourself and continuing to refine the process of expressing yourself, that's the stuff. (Says the guy who can't draw, but we all have our own things.) I think your art tells the story a little differently every chapter and it's always fascinating. You're very expressive! I like that a lot and it keeps me coming back (well, that, and the story, and the characters, and the ideas, and...)

R. Francis Smith

Even if your art is perfect, there will always be at least one jerk who will go out of their way to say it's bad, so don't get too worked up over that.

Kaz Redclaw

The majority reaction of any art piece is how it is able to communicate to the reader from the artist. The second reaction is the reader's aesthetics/preferences that may differ from the artist.

Mighterbump

It is fine.

Kristian

I know a guy who hates Jack Kirby's art. Nobody gets 100% acceptance.

Scott Barrie

Tom, You are experiencing Impostor Syndrome (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impostor_syndrome)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impostor_syndrome)</a> Also, as CGP Grey points out, as the volume of feedback increases, the value of any specific piece trends towards zero. The important thing to pay attention to is the ratio of good to bad

OddOod

Kris Straub the webcartoonist has often lamented his lack of formal training, especially in figure drawing, where he heavily stylizies everyone. I would put money on you studying figure drawing yourself, just look at HotTony! Excellent musculature and other stuff. I think you’ve self improved past the point of a formal education. Also I think you totally have the mind. I know the vast majority of the population would never get to where you are.

Michael Escalante

There will never be a consensus on ANYTHING... look at flat-earthers πŸ™„ Just keep doing your own fantastic work!

Minzoku Bokumetsu

I mean, what is "art" anyway? (cue long and pointless discussion) Slightly more seriously, an improving mindset is a good thing, just don't get so humble you start badmouthing your own work because *I* like it. Are you saying I have bad taste of something? (This comment failed to be serious.)

Amanda Dausman

Personally, I find it almost impossible to judge the art by itself. For me, the combination of story, characters and art has transcended to that point where it's a living world where I can see and feel the events happening. Because of that, I don't really see 'art' and 'writing' anymore, but am simply engaged in a wonderful and interesting world through the strip. To me, that makes the art and writing 'perfect'.

Bobo Boom

I don't think anybody can be singularly good. Even accounting for all the technicalities, drawing styles make for different audiences, so what your audience finds good might be detestable for another target market. For example i very much like this drawing style of the comic, but i know people who would not touch a comic drawn like this with a 3 meter pole, while i would do the same with comics drawn in the style they refer as "optimal".

Simone Spinozzi

I think you reached the point where your art is singularly good a long time ago. Speaking from experience, one's confidence frequently lags a few years behind... Your work is beautiful!

Lap

Starting with a certain amount of audience, you can't please everyone..
