You glance down.
You see a woman, about a foot tall, casually perched on her friend’s boot as if it’s a normal sight.

"Uh… hi?"

"Whatcha in for?" she asks casually.

"Broken pinkie." You wiggle it without thinking, instantly regretting it.

She smirks. "Tried to microwave a potato with the foil still on. Got zapped. Now I’m basically a Barbie."

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah, saw on TikTok someone did it and got shrunk. Apparently it’s a whole thing."

"I don’t think that’s how—"

The loudspeaker crackles. "B05. Now serving B05."

"Anyway," she says, already turning away, "my snap is MermaidPantherXO. Message me later."

Her friend scoops her up without missing a beat and carries her to the counter.
