I kinda like you better like this.” His eyes traced the delicate black lace clinging to her tiny frame, her hands desperately covering herself in a mix of embarassment and disbelief.
“I’m not a toy, you idiot!” she barked, her voice high and fierce. “I don’t know how this happened, but I swear I will—”
“You’re doing great,” he said casually, already leaning in to adjust Leo’s stance. “I’ll pose you between Leatherhead and Leo. Classic rescue scene. You’re gonna get rescued all the time. You’re gonna love it.”
She stumbled slightly as he nudged her into position with a fingertip. “Touch me again and I will bite you.” She glared up at him, trembling with fury.
“Oh, that’s what the last April said,” he chuckled. “But I traded her to another collector for a Scratch the Cat still in the original packaging, can you believe that? I mean, it wasn’t mint mint, the bubble had this tiny stress mark, but still—worth it. That figure’s crazy rare, they only made like—"
His voice just kept going. A rising, aimless hum. She blinked, her breath shallow, his words fading into the background like TV static. Frozen in place between plastic mutants, she wasn’t even hearing him anymore. Just staring off past the sewer playset wall, wondering how the hell she’d ever be able to get out of here.
