The Invisible Shrinking Woman

Sue Storm took a slow breath and shook out the tension from her arms. She rolled her shoulders, bounced on the balls of her feet, and glanced at herself in the mirror. Even in her sleek blue suit—perfectly tailored for high-stakes heroism—she felt more vulnerable than ever.

Not because of danger. Not because of battle.

Because today, she was going to shrink. For real.

“Okay. You’ve faced cosmic gods. This is nothing,” she whispered to her reflection, smoothing a hand down her side. “Just a little test…”

But her heart knew it was more than that.

She had always wondered what it would feel like—to be tiny. To be doll-sized. To see the world loom over her… to feel the thrill of helplessness in a pair of giant hands. Maybe it was the pressure of always being the responsible one. Maybe it was something deeper.

She turned to Scott Lang, who was standing a few feet away in the lab, holding a small canister of Pym particles like it might explode if he blinked wrong.

“Still confident this won’t blow me into the Quantum Realm?” she asked with a crooked smile.

Scott looked up, startled. “Huh? Oh—no, I mean—yes! It’s the latest-gen mix. Stronger. More stable. You’ll shrink smoothly. Probably. I mean, I tested it on ants, mostly.”

Sue laughed, stepping closer. “Just… walk me through it one more time.”

“Okay,” he said quickly, grateful for the distraction. “You press the trigger, the particles release. Focus on the size you want to be, and it’ll respond. Oh, and… don’t do any combat rolls while shrinking. Bad combo. I uh… learned that the hard way.”

“Noted.”

She held the device gently, thumb hovering over the button. Her pulse fluttered. Not from fear. From anticipation. She looked up at Scott through lowered lashes.

“So… T’Challa tells me Namor has a bit of a thing for tiny girls.” She let the sentence hang in the air, watching Scott process it.

He blinked fast. “A—thing? Like a… kink thing?”

Sue smiled. “Let’s call this a little reconnaissance. Just in case I want to surprise him.”

Scott’s ears turned red instantly. “Oh, wow. Okay. Sure. I didn’t—this is uh—yep. Science. Recon. Got it.”

She bit her lip and pressed the button.

A shimmer of red light ran through her—a warm pulse, like champagne bubbles under her skin. And then—

She shrank.

Smooth. Slow. Sensual. Her limbs tingled. Her vision stretched upward. The lab seemed to breathe and swell around her. She swayed slightly, letting her hips roll as the ground rose toward her.

“Oh wow… this is better than I imagined…”

The unstable molecules in her suit hugged her smaller form as her curves compressed, her body becoming smaller with every breath. At half her height, she looked up at Scott—his eyes wide, mouth slightly open, gaze locked on her.

“You okay over there, Ant-Man?” she teased, winking.

Scott cleared his throat and quickly crossed his legs. “I’m—uh. Yep. Totally professional.”

She giggled and spun slowly as she kept dwindling. Down to three feet. Then two. Then one.

Finally, she was no taller than a fashion doll, standing on the floor, brushing a golden strand behind her ear. Her voice was soft now, but still clear.

“You’d tell me if I was turning you on, right?” she asked sweetly.

Scott made a high-pitched noise and looked anywhere but at her. “I—I think I need to run diagnostics. On—uh—on something.”

“You sure you don’t want to pick me up and cradle me in your palms?” she added, blinking innocently. “For science.”

Scott turned, bumped into a rolling chair, and nearly tripped over it.

Sue chuckled and stretched her arms above her tiny head, basking in the sensation of smallness.

Next stop: Atlantis.
