She stood proudly on the shelf, hands on her hips, surveying the home goods section like it was her personal showroom. Her tiny boots barely made an audible sound against the metal as she spun toward the oversized cat-shaped mug beside her.

"Okay, hear me out—this mug." She gestured dramatically. "Adorable. Cozy. Absolute must-have!"

Her partner exhaled, already bracing himself. "Babe, why do you need another coffee cup? You're too small to drink out of them..."

"It’s not about needing, it’s about aesthetic, duh!" she huffed, patting the side of the mug like a proud homeowner.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the tension settle in.

They were going to be here for hours.

"You could fit inside this thing," he muttered, lifting the cup just to prove his point.

Her eyes lit up. "Oh my God. A personal hot tub!"

"That’s not what I—" He sighed deeply, watching as she eagerly trotted over to a mushroom-shaped container behind her, running her hand over it's smooth, red top like she was considering making an offer on it.

"This would be so cute on the counter!" she peeped, her voice rather squeaky at this size.

He opened his mouth to argue, but she spun on her heel, pointing at him like a commander issuing orders. "Okay! Get both mugs! And take me to the candles!"

"The—" He blinked. "Babe..."

She folded her arms. "We both know we’re not leaving without going to the candle aisle. Might as well accept it now!"

He scrubbed a hand down his face. "We should probably get a cart, shouldn’t we?"

She beamed. "Obviously!"

He exhaled sharply as he scooped up the mugs, watching as his miniature girlfriend strutted confidently across the shelf, already mentally decorating their new home.

Yeah. They were definitely going to be here forever.

It's okay. She was worth it.
