Even smaller

Once towering at six feet, now she was a mere 4'2", her top barely clinging to her shrunken frame. The phone in her hand felt heavy, oversized, as though the world around her was becoming too big, too daunting to grasp. Every morning she woke up smaller. Two inches gone every night, without explanation or mercy. She’d sought help, answers, but none came. How small am I going to get? The question gnawed at her, but no one had an answer. This morning, she could only stare in quiet resignation at her diminished reflection.
