Jacob wakes up, and the pain in his head is only offset by the pain in his ass, he tries to get up but falls to his knees, so he decides to stay still for a moment, while he looks around for the huge bison, but apparently, he is alone, which for a few moments makes him feel relieved, but then he realizes that the light inside is much dimmer, which makes him think that at any moment the darkness will completely embrace him and he has no idea how to return to the place where Salem will probably be waiting for you.
He looks around again looking for his backpack, because he remembers that he brought a lamp with him, which would help him in an emergency, but it is useless, perhaps that old bison took it with him.
He tries again to stand up, but he can't, the pain in his stomach doesn't allow it, so he decides to lie on the ground and wait maybe and just maybe Salem can come looking for him, and with that idea in mind he closes his eyes, and terrified, sore, and weak, he closes his eyes once more.
Jacob wakes up again, the cave seems to be illuminated, the brightness of a new day has reached him and with it the terror that those guys will return once more, so he tries to get up, finally succeeding, although with pain. Now the problem is to return to the main cavern, he walks through a labyrinth of corridors, which makes him think that he will never get out of there, dropping to his knees and then starting to cry bitterly.
"Jacob, Jacob!" someone calls out his name, "it's Salem," he thinks, "Here I am!" Joe yells he cries but this time it's from happiness, because he had lost hope of getting out of there alive, and now his friend had come looking for him, he was saved.
"Jacob, Jacob" the young wolf continued to yell, but he didn't seem to get close to Joe, so he decided to stand up again and follow the sound of Salem's voice.
"Here I am, help me" Jacob answered, but the only thing he heard over and over again was his name echoing in those caverns.
Finally, after a few minutes, he made it to the main chamber, where he looked around happily expecting to find Salem who had quieted once the young bear entered.
Jacob looked around looking for Salem, until he found him sitting on the ground, maybe he was resting too, he smiled seeing him.
"Thank God you're fine," he said before walking towards where he was.
Seconds later Joe's tears ran down his face, the pain in his chest was greater than any he had felt in his life, he dropped to his knees, his screams broke the silence of that place, echoing in every corner of the cave, He screamed and screamed until he couldn't take it anymore, his fists hitting the ground with such force that it was dyed red with his blood.
Facing Joe was Salem, his lifelong friend, lying dead.
